The A's Close The Book On The City Of Oakland And Give Their Fans One Final Win In Front Of a Raucous, Emotional, Packed Coliseum

That was something. Emotional no doubt, sad for sure, angering of course, but also awesome to see the fans show their appreciation for the team they so dearly love. The Oakland A's faithful came out in droves on a sunny Thursday afternoon to say good bye to their beloved team. 46,889 diehards in the stands to make sure they soaked it all in. Chants of "sell the team" rang throughout the Coliseum all day long and in the end, the A's hung on for a 3-2 victory with flamethrower Mason Miller closing it out.

Manager Mark Kotsay addressed the crowd when it was all over and spoke beautifully.

As did Dallas Braden

And if that wasn't enough to pull on your heart strings, go check out the A's Postgame show. Getting dusty in here?

I don't know what it's like to have your favorite team taken away from you like this. I can't imagine how hard it is for the true diehards to realize it's over. To have a spineless coward like John Fisher rob you of your joy. Life is hard. We lean on sports as an escape from the bullshit that we deal with on a daily basis. To have that ripped away from you like this has to be so fucking infuriating. I'd commit murder if the Yankees were taken from me.

Jeff Passan decided to commit murder himself as the final out was recorded. The victim? John Fisher.

"History will sneer" is such a good line my god.

I know the Coliseum was a dump (purposely left to rot) and new scenery was necessary, but the way this was done was so wrong. To purposely tank a professional sports team and drive away your fans is so evil it'll anger even the most even-keeled fan. Straight out of Major League. It's so bad that the President of the United States should have stepped in and done something. A's fans are real. They want to show up and go nuts. When ownership cared to win, they were there making that environment one of the most hostile in the sport. That's how it should be. When the biggest contract you hand out in two decades is $66M (2004, Eric Chavez) then you can't expect fans to spend their hard earned money on you. That was Fisher's evil plan and it worked just the way he wanted.

John Fisher should not be allowed to own a sports team. Everything about him is wrong. A born on 3rd base loser who has no interest in scoring. He cares about himself and that's it. I hope he fails in Vegas so badly. He deserves everything bad coming his way. We'll see if karma is real.

We'll close it out with Dallas' montage.

P.S. I love that Fisher told his players to leave the field immediately and not longer once the game ended. They did the exact opposite. Kotsay and his men hung around to sign autographs for a while and soak it all in. Almost a silent middle finger to everything Fisher has done.

P.P.S. If Fisher had any balls he would have posted a pic on the golf course in Vegas during the game. If you're going to be a super villain at least lean into it fully.
